The much-awaited Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, is already creating waves with its advance bookings in the United States. Directed by Sukumar, the film is set for a grand release on December 5, following the success of its 2021 prequel, Pushpa: The Rise. According to Prathyangira Cinemas, which is handling the film’s US distribution, the movie has surpassed $250,000 in advance bookings for its premiere shows alone.
The film will be screened in over 2,200 shows across more than 600 locations, marking a record-breaking demand for an Indian film in the US market. Sharing the milestone on X (formerly Twitter), the distributors wrote, “$250K+ Premieres Pre Sales….2,200+ Shows….600+ Locations…Whose rule will dominate when the man himself is a walking RULE BOOK for records?” The hype is further fueled by the promise of action-packed storytelling and the magnetic presence of Allu Arjun in his iconic role as Pushpa Raj, a smuggler with a fierce persona.
In India, producer Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movies recently revealed at a press conference in Hyderabad that Pushpa 2 has already achieved significant success in non-theatrical revenue, securing ₹425 crore from deals such as satellite, digital, and audio rights. With the theatrical rights valued at ₹600 crore globally, the film’s pre-release business is projected to exceed ₹1,000 crore, showcasing its massive box-office potential.
Pushpa 2: The Rule will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali. Allu Arjun reprises his role as Pushpa Raj, while Rashmika Mandanna returns as his love interest Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil as the antagonist SP Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. Other notable actors in the cast include Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, and Anasuya Bharadwaj, adding to the film’s star power.
Originally set for release on December 6, the film’s date was preponed to December 5 to give it a head start at the box office. This strategic move means Pushpa 2 will now clash with Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, adding an element of competition to its release.
With record-breaking pre-sales and a star-studded cast, Pushpa 2: The Rule is set to be one of the year’s biggest releases, drawing in fans of action and drama worldwide.
