A recent photo of Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj with legendary singer Asha Bhosle’s granddaughter Zanai Bhosle has created a buzz on social media. The image, which surfaced from Zanai’s 23rd birthday celebration, showed the duo sharing a light-hearted moment, sparking rumors about their relationship.
Zanai, a young singer known for her melodious voice, shared a series of pictures on Instagram from her birthday celebration, one of which featured Siraj. The photo quickly went viral, leading to widespread speculation among fans about a possible romantic connection between the two.
However, both Zanai and Siraj wasted no time addressing the rumors. Zanai took to her Instagram story to clarify their bond, referring to Siraj as “Mere pyaare bhai” (my dear brother). Siraj reposted her story, calling her “behna” (sister), putting an end to the rumors.
Siraj, who is currently not part of the Indian cricket team due to a lackluster performance in the recent Test series against Australia, has also missed out on India’s ongoing white-ball series against England and the upcoming Champions Trophy squad.
Meanwhile, concerns about India’s pace-bowling lineup have been raised. Former Indian pacer Irfan Pathan expressed his thoughts on the absence of a strong backup for the Champions Trophy squad. Pathan suggested that Siraj could have been an ideal choice, especially with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami recovering from injuries.
“You need a backup pacer. Siraj could have been a good option. In Dubai, playing four spinners isn’t viable. With Bumrah and Shami returning from injuries, it won’t be easy for them straight away,” Pathan said during a promotional event.
He further added, “A pacer like Siraj would have filled that gap. That said, we hope the selectors’ choices perform well, and we should back them.”
As Siraj focuses on regaining his form, his camaraderie with Zanai has become a talking point, highlighting the warmth of their sibling-like bond and putting to rest any unwarranted rumors.
