Actor Allu Arjun complied with his bail conditions on Sunday by appearing before the Station House Officer (SHO) at Chikkadpally police station in Hyderabad. The actor, accused in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case, has been directed by the court to check in with the police every Sunday between 10 AM and 1 PM for two months or until the charge sheet is filed, whichever comes first.
Bail Conditions and Police Appearance
Arjun, listed as Accused No. 11, was granted regular bail on January 3. As part of the bail terms, he must not change his residential address or leave the country without prior court permission. The actor completed his formalities at the police station on Sunday and departed soon after.
Cancelled Hospital Visit
Arjun had planned to visit the hospital to meet an eight-year-old boy injured in the stampede. However, the police served him a notice advising against the visit, citing public interest and the need to ensure minimal disruption at the hospital. Police suggested coordinating with hospital authorities and maintaining confidentiality to avoid public and media gatherings. Acting on the advice of his legal team, Arjun canceled his visit.
The Sandhya Theatre Incident
The tragic incident occurred on December 4 during the premiere of Allu Arjun’s film Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. A massive crowd gathered to see the actor, leading to a stampede-like situation that claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman. Her eight-year-old son was injured and is currently receiving treatment.
Following the incident, a case was registered against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The complaint was lodged by the deceased woman’s family.
Legal Developments
Arjun was arrested on December 13 in connection with the case but was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court on December 14. His interim bail is set to expire on January 10.
