Celebrity couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, who tied the knot in 2017, are known for their love of family traditions and routines. They welcomed their daughter Vamika in 2021 and their son Akaay earlier this year. Recently, Anushka opened up about their parenting approach, revealing that both she and Virat actively cook for their children, passing down the cherished recipes they grew up with.
Speaking at an event in Mumbai, Anushka shared how important it is for the couple to keep family traditions alive, especially in the kitchen. As reported by Indian Express, Anushka emphasized the significance of cooking homemade meals, just like their mothers did. “We had this discussion at home that if we don’t make the food our moms made at home, then we won’t be passing these recipes on to our kids,” Anushka said. She admitted to occasionally calling her mother for help with recipes but stressed that it’s a valuable tradition she wants to share with her children. “Sometimes I cook, and sometimes my husband cooks. We really try to replicate the way our mothers did.”
Anushka also highlighted the importance of routine in their family, particularly when it comes to meals and sleep. “I am very particular about routine,” she said. “We travel a lot as a family, and my kids experience many changes in their lives. So, by creating a routine for them, I am giving them a sense of control. Meal times are fixed—no matter where we are, we eat at the same time and sleep at the same time. It helps them regulate themselves much better.”
After spending some time in London, Anushka recently returned to Mumbai and made a public appearance at an event, where she reconnected with her fans and the media. The actress shared her excitement on Instagram, posting a set of striking photos with the caption, “Happy go red-y! ❤️”
Anushka Sharma is set to return to the screen in the sports biopic Chakda Xpress, where she will portray legendary Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The film is slated for release on an OTT platform, though the final release date is yet to be confirmed.
