South Indian cinema fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Greatest Of All Time (GOAT), and the day has finally arrived. The much-anticipated action entertainer, starring superstar Vijay in a double role, hit theatres today, September 5. Directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced under the AGS Entertainment banner, GOAT is already making waves among audiences.
AGS Entertainment’s CEO Archana Kalpathi, who is producing the film, took to social media to express her admiration for Vijay. Sharing a candid photograph with the actor on X (formerly Twitter), she captioned it, “No words needed. My G.O.A.T. Thalapathy Vijay na,” highlighting the camaraderie they share. The photo, seemingly from the film set, captures a lighthearted moment between the two.
Ahead of the film’s release, director Venkat Prabhu also expressed his excitement on X, encouraging fans to come and enjoy the film without any prior expectations. He wrote, “You guys don’t need to watch any movie before coming for #TheGreatestOfAllTime just come and have fun! It’s all yours. Let’s celebrate our #Thalapathy in theatres! The #GOAT is here!”
In a recent interview with India Today, Archana Kalpathi revealed more about the film and Vijay’s role. She emphasized that GOAT is purely an action-packed entertainer with no political undertones. “This is a complete action entertainer and has nothing to do with politics. He [Vijay] has been doing a lot of serious movies and, as a fan, I missed his movies like Pokkiri or Thuppakki, which had action woven into them,” she said. She also requested the audience to approach the film with an open mind, avoiding spoilers to fully enjoy the layers of the storyline. “We have tried a lot of new things. I’m confident that the film will have a repeat audience as it has a lot of layers,” Archana added.
Apart from Vijay, Greatest Of All Time boasts an impressive cast including Prabhu Deva, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, and Jayaram. The music for the film has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, adding yet another layer of excitement for fans.
As the action-packed GOAT opens in theatres, all eyes are on Thalapathy Vijay’s dynamic performance and the fresh elements promised by the filmmakers.
