Popular singer Neha Kakkar recently faced severe backlash after arriving three hours late for her concert in Melbourne. While she apologized to the audience, some members of the crowd expressed their disappointment, accusing her of being “unprofessional.” The controversy intensified after a video from the event went viral, showing Neha breaking down on stage.
Tony Kakkar’s Cryptic Response
Amid the ongoing criticism, Neha’s brother, singer Tony Kakkar, seemingly came to her defense with a cryptic Instagram post. Without directly mentioning the incident, he shared an analogy, hinting at possible mismanagement by the event organizers.
“Suppose I invite you to my city for an event and take full responsibility for all arrangements – booking your hotel, car, airport pickup, and tickets. Now, imagine you arrive only to find that nothing has been booked. No car at the airport, no hotel reservation, and no tickets. In that situation, who is to blame?” he wrote.
Adding a disclaimer, he captioned the post, “Ek sawal hai… kisi ke liye nahi hai… bas sawaal hai… hypothetically.”
Audience Backlash at the Concert
During the Melbourne concert, when Neha finally took the stage, she addressed the delay and said, “I hate it, maine life mein kabhi kisi ko wait nahi karwaya hai.” Despite her apology, the audience was visibly frustrated. In the viral video, attendees can be heard shouting:
- “Go back! Rest in your hotel.”
- “This is not India, you’re in Australia.”
- “We have been waiting for three hours.”
- “Very good acting! This is not Indian Idol. You’re not performing with kids.”
Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar’s Musical Careers
Neha Kakkar is one of Bollywood’s most popular playback singers, known for hit songs like Badri Ki Dulhania, Sunny Sunny, Coca Cola, Garmi, and Gali Gali. Meanwhile, her brother Tony Kakkar has also made a name for himself with songs like Sitaron Tum So Jao, Gangster, and Dil Ko Sukoon.
As the controversy unfolds, it remains unclear whether Neha Kakkar or the event organizers will address the audience’s grievances further.
