Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ Earns ₹1.91 Crore in Advance Bookings, Set to Clash with Mohanlal’s ‘L2: Empuraan’

Salman Khan’s much-anticipated action thriller Sikandar is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on March 30. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film boasts a star-studded cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar. With advance bookings now open, the film has already started making waves at the box office.

Advance Bookings for ‘Sikandar’ Cross ₹1.91 Crore

According to a report by Sacnilk, Sikandar has raked in ₹1.91 crore from advance bookings without block seats. Over 60,000 tickets have been sold across India for the opening day. However, with block seats included, the total ticket sales stand at ₹6.15 crore. The film will be screened in 9,128 shows across the country, indicating a massive theatrical presence.

Box Office Clash with Mohanlal’s ‘L2: Empuraan’

Sikandar is set to face tough competition from Mohanlal’s Malayalam action thriller L2: Empuraan, which releases on March 27, just days before Salman’s film. The Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial has already recorded an impressive advance booking collection of ₹9.02 crore, with over 4.5 lakh tickets sold. The film is scheduled for 8,748 shows across India.

Despite the box office clash, Prithviraj Sukumaran has downplayed any rivalry between the two films. During a recent press conference in Delhi, he stated, “Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars in the country, and there is no competition between the two movies. I hope it becomes a blockbuster.” He even encouraged audiences to watch both films, saying, “I will have no complaints if you watch L2: Empuraan at 11 a.m. and Sikandar at 1 p.m.”

A.R. Murugadoss and Salman Khan’s First Collaboration

Sikandar marks the first collaboration between Salman Khan and director A.R. Murugadoss, known for his work with some of the biggest names in Indian cinema. Murugadoss has previously directed blockbusters like Ghajini (Aamir Khan), Darbar (Rajinikanth), Kaththi (Vijay), Spyder (Mahesh Babu), Stalin (Chiranjeevi), Ghajini (Suriya), and Dheena (Ajith).

With Sikandar and L2: Empuraan both generating massive buzz, the upcoming weekend promises an exciting battle at the box office. It remains to be seen which film will emerge as the audience’s top choice.
