Kareena Kapoor’s latest film The Buckingham Murders saw a notable growth on its second day at the box office. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the murder mystery has garnered significant attention for its intriguing plot and strong performances. The film, which hit theatres on Friday, witnessed a spike in its earnings on Saturday, indicating positive audience reception.

Day 2 Box Office Collection

According to Sacnilk.com, The Buckingham Murders collected ₹1.90 crore on its second day across all languages, bringing its total earnings to ₹3.05 crore. The film had earned ₹1.15 crore on its opening day, with ₹70 lakh coming from the Hindi version and ₹45 lakh from the Hinglish version. The movie recorded an overall 15.70% Hindi occupancy on Saturday, a sign of steady growth.

Kareena Kapoor’s Impactful Performance

Kareena Kapoor plays the lead role of sergeant Jasmeet ‘Jass’ Bhamra in The Buckingham Murders, and her performance has been lauded by both critics and viewers. A review noted, “Kareena is the heartbeat of this film. Roughly 20 minutes in, you forget this is the same person who pulled off a constantly yapping Geet in Jab We Met or a money-minded air hostess in her recent flick Crew. Kareena has the right amount of pain and anger in her portrayal, particularly in the subtle moments, making the emotional scenes more impactful.”

Plot Overview

The Buckingham Murders is set in the UK and revolves around Jasmeet ‘Jass’ Bhamra, a sergeant coping with the tragic loss of her young son, Ekam (Mairaaj Kakkar). In the midst of her grief, Jass is assigned the case of a missing boy, Ishpreet, who is around the same age as her son. The emotionally charged narrative combines elements of crime and personal loss, keeping audiences engaged.

Kareena’s Production Debut

The film also marks Kareena Kapoor’s production debut, co-produced by Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films. In an Instagram post, Kareena expressed pride in her choice to be both the lead actor and producer. She wrote, “As an actor, it’s the choices one makes… And I am very proud of this choice. Please watch this story and dive into my world of crime and drama… a dream I have always had to act in or produce one… but here I got the best of both worlds.”

Cast and Crew

The Buckingham Murders features a talented ensemble, including Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen in pivotal roles. The film’s gripping narrative and atmospheric setting have added to its appeal, making it a must-watch for fans of the crime drama genre.
