Shahid Kapoor Takes Stand Against Bollywood Camp Bias: Vows to Confront Bullying

In a candid revelation, Shahid Kapoor has spoken out vehemently against the entrenched bias within Bollywood camps, asserting his resolve to challenge the unfair treatment of outsiders in the industry.

Despite being the son of renowned actors Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azeem, Shahid Kapoor identifies himself as an ‘outsider’ in Bollywood. In a recent episode of “No Filter Neha” with actor-host Neha Dhupia, Kapoor shared his journey of carving a niche for himself in the Hindi film industry without relying on familial connections. He candidly discussed the adversity he faced throughout his career, expressing his determination to no longer tolerate such discrimination.

Kapoor highlighted the prevalent disparity between insiders and outsiders in Bollywood, lamenting the dwindling opportunities for those outside the industry circles. He emphasized that his success stemmed solely from his hard work and talent, underscoring the detrimental impact of nepotism on the quality of Hindi cinema.

Recalling his struggles as a newcomer from Delhi in Mumbai, Kapoor revealed instances of being ostracized due to his different accent and outsider status. He recounted his ordeal of constantly relocating due to rented accommodations, facing challenges in forging connections and acceptance.

Drawing parallels between his experiences in school and the film industry, Kapoor expressed dismay at the reluctance of insiders to embrace outsiders. He condemned the culture of exclusion and asserted his readiness to confront any attempts at bullying. Kapoor asserted, “If you try to bully me, I will bully you right back. I will bully the bully because they deserve it.”

Shahid Kapoor’s latest release, “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Jiya” alongside Kriti Sanon, has amassed a staggering ₹150 crore at the box office. His upcoming project, “Deva,” is highly anticipated by fans eager to witness his versatile performances.
