In a dramatic revelation, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has informed Mumbai Police that he believes the Lawrence Bishnoi gang intended to kill him and his family. This statement is part of the comprehensive charge sheet filed by the Mumbai Police in connection with the shooting incident at Khan’s residence in April.
According to Khan’s statement, he was awakened by a firecracker-like noise in the early hours of April 14 while at his Galaxy Apartments residence. Around 4:55 AM, his police bodyguard alerted him that two individuals on a motorbike had fired shots at the first-floor balcony of his home. The bodyguard promptly reported the incident to the Bandra police station.
Khan’s statement details a chilling pattern of threats and attempts on his life. He mentioned that Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi had previously confessed to their involvement in the attack through a Facebook post. The charge sheet reveals that the Bishnoi gang had made previous threats against Khan and his family, including a threat letter discovered in 2022 and an email in March 2023. In January 2024, two unidentified individuals attempted to gain access to Khan’s farmhouse near Panvel using false identities.
The Mumbai Police have filed a 1,735-page charge sheet in this case before the special court for Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) cases. The court has recently taken cognizance of the charge sheet, stating that there is sufficient evidence to proceed against the six arrested suspects. Those detained in connection with the shooting are Vickykumar Gupta, Sagarkumar Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Anujkumar Thapan (now deceased), Mohd Rafiq Choudhary, and Harpal Singh.
