Salman Khan Reports Gunshots Fired at His Home, Allegedly Linked to Gang

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently disclosed a harrowing incident where he woke up to the sound of gunshots fired at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, on April 14. Police investigations have revealed that the assailants, believed to be hired by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, were targeting the 58-year-old actor.

A team of investigators, including a Mumbai Crime Branch officer, visited Salman Khan’s house on June 4 to record his statement, along with that of his brother Arbaaz Khan. During the six-hour questioning session, Salman Khan recounted the night of the incident, stating that he had slept late after a party. He mentioned hearing a bullet hit his balcony, which prompted him to check outside but did not spot anyone.

Arbaaz Khan, who was at his Juhu residence during the firing, acknowledged previous threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang towards his brother.

Following the shooting, six individuals were apprehended, including Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal in Gujarat, and Anuj Thapan and another individual in Punjab, although Anuj Thapan died while in police custody. The police assert that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang orchestrated the attack with weapons procured from a Pakistani arms dealer. The gang’s plan allegedly included ambushing Salman Khan’s car in Panvel, Maharashtra, where he owns a farmhouse, using high-caliber weapons such as AK-47s and M-16s.

Salman Khan expressed gratitude to the police for their assistance and acknowledged the danger to his life. While over 150 questions were posed to the Khan brothers during the interrogation, their father Salim Khan’s statement was not recorded due to his age, although the crime branch may seek his statement if deemed necessary.

As the investigation progresses, authorities are delving deeper into the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s activities and their alleged plot to target the Bollywood star. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the security challenges faced by high-profile individuals in the entertainment industry.
