According to reports from Sacnilk.com, Pushpa 2: The Rule raked in ₹60 crore net on its second Friday, bringing its total to approximately ₹822.20 crore net in India. The first-week collections stood at a staggering ₹725.8 crore, with ₹10.65 crore coming from its premiere and ₹164.25 crore on its opening day.
While the film saw a slight dip in collections on its first Friday (₹93.8 crore), it rebounded over the weekend with ₹119.25 crore on Saturday and ₹141.05 crore on Sunday. During the weekdays, the movie maintained steady numbers, earning ₹64.45 crore, ₹51.55 crore, ₹43.35 crore, and ₹37.45 crore from Monday to Thursday. On its second Friday, the film added another ₹36.4 crore to its tally.
The film has also made significant strides globally, surpassing ₹1100 crore in worldwide collections, edging closer to records set by films like Jawan and KGF 2.
Allu Arjun’s Arrest and Legal Battle
Despite the roaring success of the film, Allu Arjun faced legal trouble following the tragic death of a fan during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. Arjun was arrested on December 13, with police filing an FIR against him and the theater’s management. He was granted bail by the Telangana High Court and released on December 14 after spending a night at Chanchalguda Central Jail.
Speaking to the media after his release, Arjun expressed his condolences to the victim’s family. “We’re extremely sorry for the family, and I will personally support them in whatever way possible. It was purely accidental and completely unintentional. My love is with the family,” he said.
He further explained his long association with the theatre, stating, “I’ve been coming to this theatre for over 20 years and have attended more than 30 premieres here. Such an incident has never happened before. It’s truly unfortunate and beyond anyone’s control.”
