Naga Chaitanya arrived in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday to promote his upcoming film Thandel. While addressing the audience and press, the actor took a moment to praise his wife, actress Sobhita Dhulipala, who hails from Vizag.
In a now-viral video from the event, Naga Chaitanya was heard saying, “Vizag is so close to my heart that I fell in love with a Vizag ammayi (girl) and married her. Now, there’s a piece of Vizag at my home too. So, brothers, I have a small request… The box office collection of Thandel in Vizag should be staggering; otherwise, I’ll lose my honour at home.” His lighthearted remark left fans and the audience amused.
Thandel is a survival drama directed by Chandoo Mondeti, in which Naga Chaitanya will be seen alongside Sai Pallavi. The film has been generating significant buzz ahead of its release.
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony on December 4 at the iconic Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. The event was attended by close family and friends. The first official pictures from their wedding were shared by Naga Chaitanya’s father, veteran actor Nagarjuna, on social media.
Sharing the pictures on X (formerly Twitter), Nagarjuna expressed his emotions, writing, “Watching Sobhita and Chay begin this beautiful chapter together has been a special and emotional moment for me. Congratulations to my beloved Chay, and welcome to the family dear Sobhita—you’ve already brought so much happiness into our lives.”
He further added, “This celebration holds even deeper meaning as it unfolds under the blessings of ANR garu’s statue, installed to mark his centenary year. It feels as though his love and guidance are present with us at every step of this journey. I thank the countless blessings showered upon us today with gratitude.”
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita got engaged in August before tying the knot in December. The actor was previously married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
