Munjya Box Office Collection Day 2: Mona Singh and Sharvari Film Witnesses Growth, Crosses ₹10 Crore in India

The horror-comedy film “Munjya,” directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Amar Kaushik, has seen significant growth in its box office collections on its second day. The film, which features Mona Singh and Sharvari in pivotal roles, earned nearly ₹7 crore on Saturday, bringing its total domestic earnings to approximately ₹10.75 crore nett.

Following a decent opening day collection of ₹4 crore, “Munjya” managed to attract more viewers on Saturday, with early estimates suggesting it earned ₹6.75 crore nett. According to Sacnilk.com, the film had an overall 30.99 percent Hindi occupancy on Saturday, indicating a positive trend in audience interest.

Produced by Maddock Films and Amar Kaushik, “Munjya” is being lauded for its captivating story and impressive CGI technology. In a post on Instagram, Maddock Films highlighted the film’s strong opening day numbers, stating, “This record-breaking collection for a film with no A-list actors is a testament to the power of a captivating story and the brilliance of CGI technology. Munjya has sprung the biggest surprise in the industry, setting the stage for a remarkable box office run.”

The film stars Sharvari, Mona Singh, Abhay Verma, and Sathyaraj. Set in Pune and the Konkan region of Maharashtra, “Munjya” follows the story of a mythical creature from Indian folklore that wreaks havoc in the life of Bittu, played by Abhay Verma. Mona Singh portrays Pummy, a single working mother who is overly protective of Bittu. The film is part of the Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe, which includes “Stree” (2018), “Roohi” (2021), and “Bhediya” (2022).

Expressing her joy over the film’s performance, Sharvari told ANI, “I’m thrilled to see the outstanding start that Munjya has received at the box office. We have made this film with a lot of love, passion, and hard work and I have been praying ever since that Munjya becomes a huge hit. It is a film that pushed me to do something remarkably different so early on in my career, and I have to thank my producer, Dinesh Vijan, and my director, Aditya Sarpotdar, for his belief in me to pull off this role.”

With its unique blend of horror and comedy, “Munjya” has managed to captivate audiences and achieve a commendable box office performance. The film’s strong second-day earnings suggest that it could continue to perform well in the coming days, further establishing itself as a notable entry in the horror-comedy genre.
