Actor Rajinikanth was admitted to a corporate hospital in Chennai on Monday night due to complaints of stomach pain. The 72-year-old superstar, known for his iconic roles in Indian cinema, is set to undergo an elective procedure on Tuesday. According to his wife, Latha Rajinikanth, the actor’s condition is stable, and there is no cause for concern.
In a brief statement to News18, Latha assured fans, saying, “All is well,” without providing further details about the actor’s condition. A source at the hospital told PTI that Rajinikanth’s admission was due to digestive discomfort and that he is under the care of interventional cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish. The procedure will be conducted in the cath lab, addressing a problem near his abdomen. Rajinikanth is expected to be discharged by Tuesday evening.

Rajinikanth’s Upcoming Projects
Despite the brief health scare, Rajinikanth has remained active in the film industry. He recently attended the audio and prevue launch of his upcoming film, Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel. The highly anticipated film, set to release on October 10, features a star-studded cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and Abhirami. Vettaiyan is produced by Lyca Productions and is Rajinikanth’s 170th film.
Additionally, Rajinikanth is currently shooting for Coolie, a gangster drama directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film’s announcement video generated significant buzz, particularly for its monochrome visuals and the song D.I.S.C.O. The ensemble cast includes Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Upendra. The movie is being filmed in Visakhapatnam and Chennai and is expected to release next year.
