Actor Govinda Hospitalized After Accidental Bullet Injury, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Others React

Actor-turned-politician Govinda was admitted to CritiCare Asia hospital on Tuesday morning after sustaining an accidental bullet injury at his home. The incident occurred when the 60-year-old actor’s revolver fell from his hand and discharged, with the bullet hitting his leg. Govinda, who was getting ready for a trip to Kolkata, was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors successfully removed the bullet.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reached out to Govinda following the accident to inquire about his health and wished him a speedy recovery. In a statement, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) conveyed Shinde’s concern and assured Govinda and his family of the state government’s support. “I contacted Govinda and inquired about his health. I wished him a speedy and complete recovery and a healthy life on behalf of the state government and the public,” the statement read. Shinde also instructed the hospital to ensure Govinda receives the best possible care.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde confirmed that Govinda is recovering well and urged fans not to worry. “Actor and former MP Govinda has sent an audio clip. He is fine now. He thanked Dr. Aggarwal, who operated on and removed the bullet from his leg. Fans of Govinda should not worry,” Hegde told PTI.

Govinda’s nephew, Vinay Anand, provided further updates on the actor’s condition, sharing that the operation was successful, and the actor is now stable. “All fans of Govinda should pray that he recovers well. He is conscious, and I am going to meet him. I don’t know much about what happened, but the revolver fell from his hands,” Anand told the media.

Kashmera Shah, actress and wife of Govinda’s nephew Krushna, also visited the actor in the hospital to offer her support.

Following the incident, Govinda himself issued a statement via an audio message, assuring his fans of his condition. “With the blessings of my fans, my parents, and God, I am doing better now. I was hit by a bullet, which has now been removed. I thank the doctor here, Dr. Agarwal, and all of you for your prayers,” he said.

Govinda, known for his contributions to Indian cinema and his tenure as a Member of Parliament, has long been a beloved figure in the entertainment industry. His fans and well-wishers across the country have expressed relief following the positive updates on his recovery.
