Sunny Deol’s Jaat Crosses ₹50 Crore Worldwide on Day 4 After Sunday Surge

Sunny Deol’s action-packed entertainer Jaat has finally picked up momentum at the box office, crossing the ₹50 crore mark worldwide on its fourth day, thanks to a noticeable surge in collections on Sunday. Despite a slow start, the film’s positive word of mouth appears to be translating into ticket sales—albeit more gradually than expected.

According to figures shared by Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind Jaat, the film earned ₹49.30 crore gross in India by the end of Sunday. With an additional ₹5 crore coming from overseas markets, the film’s total global gross now stands at around ₹54-55 crore.

The Sunday collections alone saw a 40% jump, with overseas earnings contributing $200k (approximately ₹1.6 crore), suggesting that the film might be turning a corner as it heads into the weekdays.

A Slow Climb Compared to Expectations

While crossing ₹50 crore is typically considered a major milestone for any film, in the case of Jaat, it’s a tempered celebration. Sunny Deol’s last blockbuster, Gadar 2, had surpassed ₹50 crore on its opening day itself. Similarly, Sikandar, despite being labeled an underperformer, raked in ₹54 crore on its day one.

Trade analysts note that Jaat‘s sluggish start was surprising given Deol’s mass appeal and the film’s high-octane action theme. Much now depends on how the film performs on Monday. A sharp drop could indicate fading interest, while a steady hold might help the film gain traction through the week.

Can Jaat Hold Its Ground?

The coming days are crucial for Jaat to prove its staying power. Sustaining audience interest post the opening weekend is often the true test of a film’s content and appeal. Whether Jaat can pass the crucial “Monday test” will determine if it ends up being a modest success or gets lost in the box office shuffle.

About the Film

Jaat marks the Hindi directorial debut of Gopichand Malineni, known for his Telugu action hits. The film features an ensemble cast including Regina Cassandra, Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Ramya Krishnan, and Jagapathi Babu. Sunny Deol headlines the film in a gritty, action-heavy role reminiscent of his 90s glory days.

With competition at the box office stiff and expectations running high, Jaat still has a long road ahead if it hopes to replicate the massive success of Deol’s past ventures.
