Actor Ileana D’Cruz has shared a heartfelt note on parenting, expressing her strong belief that children should never feel they need to ‘earn’ their parent’s love. Taking to Instagram Stories, the actress reflected on her own emotional experiences and emphasized her desire to raise happy, kind, and emotionally secure children.
The Do Aur Do Pyaar actress, who welcomed her first child, Koa Phoenix Dolan, in August 2023, and is currently expecting her second baby with husband Michael Dolan, responded to a fan’s opinion about love being something that must be earned. In a screenshot of the fan’s message, the user wrote that people, especially kids, should learn that traits like cruelty or selfishness don’t deserve love and that love, like respect, must be earned.
Responding thoughtfully, Ileana wrote, “I will never want my children to feel that they need to ‘earn’ my love. That is by far the worst feeling I have ever experienced — feeling ‘not good enough’.” She added, “I want to raise happy, healthy, kind children (I am sure all parents do) and I will do my best to ensure they know how loved they are. These are, of course, my views and opinions. You do you.”
Ileana and Michael Dolan tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2023. The actress took fans by surprise when she announced her first pregnancy in April 2023 by posting a picture of a baby onesie with the caption, “Coming soon. Can’t wait to meet you, my little darling.” In August, she shared the joy of her son’s birth, writing, “No words could explain how happy we are to welcome our darling boy to the world. Heart’s beyond full.”
Professionally, Ileana was last seen in Do Aur Do Pyaar, a romantic comedy directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta. The film also featured Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, and Sendhil Ramamurthy in key roles.
With her candid reflections on motherhood, Ileana continues to resonate with fans, offering a glimpse into her life beyond the screen and inspiring conversations about parenting and emotional well-being.
