Popular Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader, Govinda, is set to be discharged from CritiCare Asia hospital on Friday, following a misfire accident earlier this week that left him with a bullet wound. His wife, Sunita Ahuja, provided the update from the hospital, reassuring fans that the actor’s condition has improved significantly.

The three-time Filmfare Award winner was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Tuesday morning after his licensed revolver accidentally discharged while he was cleaning it at his home. The bullet struck Govinda below the knee. His manager revealed that the incident occurred around 4:45 am, as the actor was putting the weapon back into a cupboard when it slipped from his hand, causing it to fire.

Speaking to reporters, Mrs. Ahuja, who was in Kolkata at the time of the incident, expressed relief over her husband’s recovery. “He is better. We will admit him to the normal ward today. He is much better than yesterday and will be discharged the day after tomorrow. With everyone’s blessings, he has recovered,” she said. She also thanked Govinda’s fans for their prayers and urged them not to panic.

The actor’s manager added that he had received an urgent call from Govinda after the incident and had rushed him to the hospital. Govinda was scheduled to fly to Kolkata for a show, but the plans were put on hold due to the accident. The actor’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, arrived at the hospital later that day to be with her father.

Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, the surgeon who removed the bullet, confirmed that Govinda’s condition is stable, but recommended that he rest for at least a month to ensure a full recovery.

As news of the accident spread, Govinda’s fans expressed concern for his well-being. The actor later released an audio message, thanking his fans for their prayers and appreciating the medical team for their care. In addition to his fans, several film industry colleagues and political figures, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, reached out to Govinda with well wishes, with some visiting him in the hospital.

Govinda, known for his charismatic performances and massive fan following, has assured everyone that he is on the road to recovery. His discharge from the hospital is expected to be a welcome relief for his supporters, who have been anxiously following updates on his health.
