AP Arjun’s much-anticipated Kannada film Martin, starring Dhruva Sarja, released in theaters on October 11, but fans were left disappointed as several morning shows were unexpectedly canceled across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Many took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration, citing lack of notice and confusion about the cancellations.
Fans Voice Their Displeasure
In Karnataka, fans were eager to catch the early shows of Martin, but the sudden cancellations left them confused and upset. One fan from Shivamogga shared a screenshot of their tickets, tweeting, “Booked 7 AM show, it got cancelled. Booked 8:45 AM show, this too got cancelled.” Another fan in Hyderabad expressed their frustration, saying, “8.15 AM show cancelled. Mythri Theatres (Vimal), Balanagar. Distributor issues apparently… wasted sleep and petrol.” Similarly, another user from the same theater in Balanagar reported that the cancellations were due to issues between the film’s distributors and producers.
Despite being fully booked for some early morning shows, many theaters across the region reported cancellations. A fan in Mysuru tweeted, “#Martin #MartinOnOct11th Mysore Alli 9:00 AM show cancelled in DRC and Garuda Mall.”
Resolution and Fan Reactions
Though there was no official word from Dhruva Sarja or the film’s team regarding the sudden cancellations, the issue seemed to have been resolved later in the morning. By 9:30 AM, fans started posting pictures and videos from inside theaters, excitedly sharing clips of Martin‘s title card and Dhruva Sarja’s dramatic entry scene. A fan posted, “Show started. Banger entry,” while another referred to it as a ‘mental mass’ moment, hinting at the larger-than-life action expected in the film.
Still High Expectations
While the early morning cancellations caused frustration, it seems fans are willing to look past the inconvenience if the film lives up to the hype. With many excited posts and praise for Dhruva’s performance already surfacing online, Martin looks set to make an impact at the box office despite the initial setbacks.
