'Dream Girl 2' Achieves Hit Status, Crosses ₹78.06 Crores at the Box Office in Week 2

Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday’s ‘Dream Girl 2’ are making waves at the box office, reaffirming the magic of its predecessor. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film has now secured “hit status” by crossing the ₹75 crore mark, and its box office journey shows no signs of slowing down. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, in his recent update, revealed that after a successful second weekend, ‘Dream Girl 2’ has amassed an impressive ₹78.06 crores.

Sharing the movie’s poster, Taran Adarsh noted that ‘Dream Girl 2’ still has “a few more days to score, before [Shah Rukh Khan’s] ‘Jawan’ strikes.” The poster showcases Ayushmann’s character, Pooja, standing confidently on a car’s bonnet, surrounded by a stellar cast including Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Manjot Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Annu Kapoor, and Abhishek Banerjee.

In a tweet, Taran Adarsh stated, “Dream Girl 2 crosses ₹75 crore… Attains hit status… Has a few more days to score, before ‘Jawan’ strikes [on Thursday]… [Week 2] Friday ₹4.70 crore… Saturday ₹6.36 crore. Total: ₹78.06 crore. India biz. Box office.”

Earlier, on September 1, Taran Adarsh had celebrated the “impressive week 1” of ‘Dream Girl 2.’ He shared, “The box office success of ‘Dream Girl’ now continues with ‘Dream Girl 2’… ‘Dream Girl 2’ packs a solid punch in Week 1, not just at metros but also in mass pockets… Friday ₹10.69 crore, Saturday ₹14.02 crore, Sunday ₹16 crore, Monday ₹5.42 crore, Tuesday ₹5.87 crore, Wednesday ₹7.50 crore, Thursday ₹7.50 crore. Total: ₹67 crore. India biz. Box office.”

Despite mixed reviews from critics, ‘Dream Girl 2’ seems to have struck a chord with audiences, showcasing Ayushmann Khurrana’s unwavering charm and performance.

‘Dream Girl 2’ serves as a sequel to the 2019 hit film ‘Dream Girl,’ which featured Nushrratt Bharuccha in a pivotal role. The film’s continued success reaffirms the popularity of the franchise and its ability to resonate with viewers. As it faces competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan,’ the box office battle between these two highly anticipated films is expected to heat up in the coming days.
