"Dream Girl 2" Collects Nearly ₹60 Crore in 6 Days at the Box Office

The box office journey of “Dream Girl 2,” starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday, continues to captivate audiences as the film reaches a cumulative collection of almost ₹60 crore within six days of its release. The movie, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, has showcased consistent growth since its opening day and sustained its momentum even on Raksha Bandhan.

On Raksha Bandhan, “Dream Girl 2” reportedly earned ₹7.75 crore, as per early estimates from Sacnilk.com, contributing to its overall collection of ₹59.75 crore. The film marked a promising start with an opening day collection of ₹10.7 crore and a significant surge to ₹16 crore on its first Sunday. While experiencing a minor dip to ₹5.42 crore on Monday, it rebounded on Wednesday, amassing ₹7.75 crore.

In this spiritual sequel to the 2019 film “Dream Girl,” Ayushmann Khurrana’s character once again stands out as he takes on the role of Pooja, a male individual who impersonates a woman for financial gain.

Ayushmann Khurrana, reflecting on the film’s successful debut week, remarked, “In the last 3 months, mid-budget and small-budget films are also running successfully. Earlier people used to feel that only big-budget movies would run. So, the timing of the movie is correct and it came in between Jawan and Gadar 2 but still made its own space and this will be the biggest victory of Dream Girl 2.”

On his portrayal of Pooja in the film, Ayushmann shared his commitment to impactful storytelling, stating, “If the story is good and impactful, then not only a girl but you will be ready to become a dinosaur. Actors want to undertake tough and challenging work. For this role, I have competition with Madhuri, Sridevi, and Hema Malini. Because I thought I wouldn’t be able to do justice if I kept male actors in mind.”

“Dream Girl 2” boasts an ensemble cast including Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Asrani, Abhishek Banerjee, Manjot Singh, and Seema Pahwa. Ayushmann expressed his fondness for working with Annu Kapoor, as their collaboration has proven successful in projects like “Dream Girl” and “Vicky Donor.”
