At a grand event in Chennai to launch the song Kissik from the highly anticipated Pushpa 2: The Rule, music composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) addressed rumors of a rift with the movie’s producers. The event saw the presence of stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Sreeleela, along with DSP, who openly spoke about the dynamics of his collaboration with the team.
DSP’s Playful Remarks
Amid speculation that the producers were unhappy with DSP for delays in delivering the background score, DSP playfully acknowledged their grievances. “Ravi (Shankar) sir, you’ve been blaming me for not delivering the song or the background score on time. I know you love me, but where there is love, there are complaints too. I think you have more complaints about me than love,” he said, adding a lighthearted tone to the rumors.
Addressing Crowd Expectations
DSP also narrated his arrival at the venue, adding to the humor. “Even now, I came 20-25 minutes ago, but they asked me to wait for the camera. When I heard Kissik being played, I came running. But as soon as I arrived, they said, ‘Wrong timing, sir. You’re late.’ What can I do?”
Background Rumors
There had been reports that due to DSP’s delays, other composers like Thaman, Ajaneesh Lokanath, and Sam CS were brought on board for the project. Despite these rumors, DSP maintained a positive tone, showcasing his openness and commitment to the film.
National Award Winner
Devi Sri Prasad’s work in the first film, Pushpa: The Rise, earned him a National Award, solidifying his reputation as a top music composer.
About Pushpa 2: The Rule
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to the blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise (2021). Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the film will release on December 5 in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali.
