The highly anticipated film Devara: Part 1, starring Jr NTR, has been granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Directed by Koratala Siva, the film marks the Telugu debut of Bollywood actors Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. Set for release on September 27, Devara will be available in multiple languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
As per the CBFC’s guidelines, the film underwent four significant modifications before being cleared for release. Three of these changes focused on toning down violent scenes: a shot where a character kicks his wife was altered, another scene where a man kicks his mother was modified, and a five-second visual of a body hanging on a sword was completely removed. The fourth modification involved adding a disclaimer during a scene where Jr NTR rides a shark, clarifying that the shark was CGI-generated.
The film, produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, boasts an ensemble cast with Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Shine Tom Chacko playing pivotal roles. Devara: Part 1 is a generational saga set in forgotten coastal lands, revolving around themes of friendship and betrayal.
With cinematography by Rathnavelu ISC, production design by Sabu Cyril, and editing by Sreekar Prasad, Devara promises to be a visual spectacle. Fans are eagerly awaiting its release, especially after the recent buzz surrounding the CBFC certification and the film’s star-studded cast.
