The much-anticipated action drama Devara: Part 1, featuring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, is inching closer to the ₹250 crore mark at the domestic box office. Released on September 27, the film had a stellar opening and maintained strong momentum in its first two weeks. However, recent reports indicate a notable drop in its box office performance this week.

According to Sacnilk, Devara collected ₹4.9 crore on its second Monday, with an overall Telugu occupancy of 23.74% on October 7. So far, the film’s total collection in the domestic market stands at ₹248.65 crore.

Box Office Performance

Devara, directed by Koratala Siva, stars Jr NTR in a dual role and boasts a star-studded cast that includes Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Zarina Wahab, Shine Tom Chacko, Abhimanyu Singh, Talluri Rameswari, Kalaiyarasan, and Shruti Marathe. Despite a dip in collections this week, Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted that the film bounced back over the second weekend. On X (formerly Twitter), he shared, “Devara slipped on [second] Friday, but recovered the shortfall over the weekend, on Saturday – Sunday. Should accumulate as much as it can before the Dussehra releases arrive.”

He detailed the box office figures, writing, “Week 2: Fri 2.40 cr, Sat 3.60 cr, Sun 4.20 cr. Total: ₹58.47 cr for the Hindi version, Nett BOC.” The film has so far collected ₹58.47 crore from its Hindi version alone, with its total Indian business growing steadily.

Cast and Crew Insights

Devara has been lauded for its powerful performances, particularly Jr NTR’s portrayal of two characters. The film also marked the Telugu debut of Bollywood stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. At the trailer launch event in Mumbai, Saif shared his experience of working with Jr NTR, saying, “Tarak [Jr NTR] is a very easy-going person who wears his stardom lightly. Off-set, he’s very friendly and welcoming. We shared a good laugh even on the first day. He visited me in my van while I was waiting for a shot, which made me feel very comfortable.”

Produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts and presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Devara: Part 1 has been released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Looking Ahead

With upcoming releases slated for Dussehra, Devara is expected to make the most of the time left to accumulate box office revenue. Fans eagerly await the film’s continued performance and any updates on the highly anticipated Devara: Part 2.

As Devara nears the ₹250 crore milestone, it stands as another major success for Jr NTR, further solidifying his position as a leading star in Indian cinema.
