The trailer launch of the much-anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule turned chaotic on Sunday evening in Patna, as over 10,000 fans gathered at Gandhi Maidan to catch a glimpse of the film’s stars, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. The excitement soon spiraled out of control, forcing police to resort to a mild lathi charge to manage the unruly crowd.
Chaos at Gandhi Maidan
Fans climbed barricades and scaffolding to get closer to the stars, creating a stampede-like situation. Videos from the event captured moments of fans throwing slippers and other objects at police personnel when they were stopped from advancing toward the stage. To ensure the safety of attendees, security forces intervened with baton charges.
Rajeev Mishra, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Patna, stated that only a small group of fans trying to cross the barricades were removed, and the overall situation remained under control. Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh also assured the public that security measures were adequate and the event concluded without any major incident.

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. The film stars Allu Arjun as the titular smuggler, with Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil reprising their roles from the first installment.
The trailer, released at the event, has already generated immense buzz, garnering over 10 million views across all languages within hours. With a reported budget of ₹300 crore, Pushpa 2 is set to be one of the biggest Indian films of the year.
