Actor Mukul Dev was last seen in the 2022 film “Anth The End”
The Indian film industry is mourning the untimely demise of actor Mukul Dev, who passed away on Friday, May 23, in Delhi at the age of 54. Known for his compelling screen presence and versatile acting, Mukul Dev’s sudden death has left his fans and colleagues in deep shock and grief.
The news has triggered a wave of emotional tributes from friends, co-stars, and admirers across the entertainment world, each remembering him as a talented artist and a warm human being.
Actor Manoj Bajpayee, who worked with Mukul in Mahesh Bhatt’s 1996 film Dastak, shared a heartfelt note on Instagram. “It is impossible to put into words what I am feeling. Mukul was a brother in spirit, an artist whose warmth and passion were unmatched. Gone too soon, too young. Praying for strength and healing for his family and everyone grieving this loss. Miss you meri jaan (my love)…until we meet again. Om Shanti,” he wrote. Actress Dia Mirza, overwhelmed with grief, responded simply with, “Can’t believe this .”
Actor Sonu Sood also paid his respects with a brief but touching message: “RIP Mukul bhai. You were a gem. Will always miss you. Stay strong, Rahul Dev bhai.”
Arshad Warsi joined in with a poignant tribute: “Heartbroken to hear about Mukul Dev. I was really fond of him. He was a friend, colleague, a wonderful person with a beautiful soul. May his soul rest in peace.”

Veteran actor Vindu Dara Singh remembered Mukul by sharing an old video clip on X. His caption read, “Rest in peace, my brother Mukul Dev! The time spent with you will always be cherished and Son Of Sardaar 2 will be your swansong where you will spread joy and happiness to the viewers and make them fall laughing!” The film, directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, is slated to release on July 25, and now stands as Mukul Dev’s final cinematic contribution.
Actress Dipshikkha Nagpal, a close friend, also shared an old video with the late actor on Instagram. Her emotional caption read, “I can’t believe you are gone, Muks. What do I say??? With a heavy heart, I can say may his soul rest in peace. What a beautiful soul, amazing actor and a wonderful friend. You will be missed. I will miss your voice notes. May god give strength to his family.”
Mukul Dev, who began his career in the 1990s, featured in several notable films and television shows over the decades. He was known for his roles in movies such as Dastak, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, and Yamla Pagla Deewana, among others.
