The tragic incident has sent shockwaves across the country, prompting an outpouring of grief and cancellations of public events.

Arijit Singh’s concert, which was scheduled to be held on April 27 in Chennai, was officially called off in solidarity with the victims of the attack. The decision was made jointly by the organisers and the artist, with Arijit sharing the announcement via his Instagram Stories.

Official Statement

The message from the organisers read:
“IMPORTANT UPDATE. In light of the recent and tragic events, the organisers, along with the artist, have collectively made the decision to cancel the upcoming show scheduled to happen in Chennai this Sunday, April 27th. All ticket holders will receive full refunds, and the amount will be automatically refunded back to your original mode of payment. Thank you for your understanding.”

While there has been no confirmation yet on whether the concert will be rescheduled in Chennai, fans have largely responded with understanding and support in the face of the national tragedy.

Music Industry Responds

Popular composer Anirudh Ravichander also responded to the incident by postponing the ticket sales for the Bengaluru leg of his HUKUM World Tour. Originally set to go on sale on April 24, the new ticketing date will be announced at a later time.

Anirudh shared his condolences on social media, stating:
“The tragic events in Pahalgam have deeply shaken us all. Our heartfelt prayers and deepest condolences go out to the victims and their families. Silence and solidarity.”

Bollywood Mourns

The Pahalgam terror attack, which occurred on April 22 at Baisaran meadow—a popular tourist destination—has been described as one of the deadliest in recent times in the region. As per reports, terrorists opened fire on civilians, killing 26 and injuring at least 20 others.

The brutal attack has drawn strong emotional reactions from across the entertainment industry. Celebrities including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Akshay Kumar have taken to social media to express their sorrow and outrage over the loss of innocent lives.

A Nation in Mourning

As the country grapples with the aftermath of the Pahalgam tragedy, public figures and artists are choosing silence and solidarity over celebration. With concerts being cancelled and events postponed, the mood reflects a collective grief and a united stand against violence.
