Adhik Ravichandran’s masala film continues to perform strongly, despite mixed reviews, with Trisha Krishnan hitting back at online trolls.
Ajith Kumar’s latest film, Good Bad Ugly, is gaining momentum at the box office, despite facing mixed reactions from critics. After a lukewarm opening, the film saw significant growth on its third day, crossing the ₹60 crore mark in India. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the action-packed masala movie, also starring Trisha Krishnan, has been well-received by fans, particularly for Ajith’s performance.
According to trade website Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated ₹18.50 crore on its third day (Saturday), bringing its total domestic earnings to approximately ₹62.75 crore. With this growth, Good Bad Ugly is on track to surpass ₹100 crore in India by the end of its first week. The film has already outperformed Ajith and Trisha’s previous project, Vidaamuyarchi, and has grossed ₹77 crore worldwide in its first two days alone.
Good Bad Ugly marks a career milestone for Ajith Kumar, becoming his highest-opening film to date. The movie has beaten the opening record set by his 2022 film Valimai, showing the actor’s continued dominance at the box office.
While the film has been performing well commercially, it has received mixed reviews. Ajith’s performance has been widely praised, though some critics have expressed concerns about the film’s story and execution. Despite this, the commercial success of the film speaks volumes about its popularity with audiences.
In addition to the box office success, Trisha Krishnan, who plays the role of Ramya in the film, found herself at the center of online trolling.
Good Bad Ugly tells the story of a gangster named Red Dragon (Ajith) who is trying to redeem himself after his wife, Ramya (Trisha), refuses to allow him to meet their son until he proves he has changed. As Red Dragon struggles to leave his criminal past behind, he is forced to confront his demons when his son is kidnapped. With an all-star cast that includes Arjun Das, Sunil, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Prabhu, Prasanna, Tinnu Anand, and Raghu Ram, the film offers a blend of action, drama, and suspense.
With strong box office numbers and a committed fanbase, Good Bad Ugly is set to continue its successful run, as audiences eagerly await its upcoming milestones.
