“Shaitaan,” a home invasion drama directed by Vikas Bahl and starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyothika, was released on March 8 and has been steadily gaining momentum at the domestic box office. In its third week of release, the film has managed to surpass ₹150 crore in India, showcasing its enduring popularity among audiences.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the latest box office figures, revealing that “Shaitaan” had yet another successful weekend with collections of ₹1.28 crore on Friday, ₹1.44 crore on Saturday, and ₹1.62 crore on Sunday, bringing its total to ₹142.06 crore in India.

Notably, “Shaitaan” has also achieved significant success on the global stage, crossing ₹200 crore worldwide. R Madhavan, one of the film’s stars, announced this milestone on social media, stating that “Shaitaan” has made ₹201.73 crore worldwide so far.

Presented by Jio Studios, Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios, “Shaitaan” is a Hindi remake of the 2023 Gujarati horror film “Vash,” directed by Krishnadev Yagnik. Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak serve as producers for the film.

Ajay Devgn, who plays a pivotal role in “Shaitaan,” expressed his excitement about the horror genre, stating, “It’s not that we (superstars) don’t want to do horror films. If we get something interesting, then why not? I like this genre and I was waiting to explore it again.”
