In a major development in Mumbai’s real estate and celebrity circles, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is set to move out of his residence in the upscale Pali Hill area of Bandra. This shift comes as his current building, part of the Virgo Cooperative Housing Society, is slated for redevelopment. The project, being undertaken by Man Infraconstruction Limited (MICL), will transform the society into an ultra-luxury residential complex.
The redevelopment plans are currently in the approval stage, with MICL aiming to officially launch the high-end project by December 2025. According to Manan Shah, a representative of MICL, the new luxury apartments are expected to be priced above ₹1 lakh per sq ft. Aamir Khan, who owns approximately 12 apartments in the current building, will receive a unit in the rehabilitation section, in line with other residents.
Adding to his real estate portfolio, the Lagaan actor recently purchased another property in the same locality. The new apartment spans 1,027 sq ft and reportedly cost over ₹9 crore. The transaction, completed in June 2024, involved a stamp duty of ₹58.5 lakh and a registration fee of ₹30,000.
This move mirrors the recent relocation of Shah Rukh Khan and his family. SRK temporarily shifted from his iconic Mannat residence due to planned renovations. The actor has leased four floors of the Puja Casa building in Pali Hill from film producer Vashu Bhagnani’s family. His company, Red Chillies Entertainment, entered into a leave and license agreement with Bhagnani’s children, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshika Deshmukh, who co-own the property.
The renovation of Mannat includes a long-delayed extension of the bungalow. As a Grade III heritage structure, any modifications require special permissions, which the actor had to secure from the court.
Both Aamir and Shah Rukh’s temporary relocations highlight the evolving landscape of Mumbai’s celebrity neighborhoods, where heritage, luxury, and redevelopment intersect.
