Siddhant Chaturvedi’s action-packed film, Yudhra, witnessed a dip in its box office numbers on Saturday, after a decent opening day performance.
The action film, directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Sudha Anukta, hit Indian theatres to a promising start. However, the film’s second day at the box office saw a drop in collections. According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, Yudhra earned nearly ₹2 crore on Saturday, taking its total to ₹6 crore nett domestically.
Box Office Performance
Yudhra kicked off its theatrical run with a solid ₹4.50 crore on its opening day. On day two, the film managed to collect ₹1.50 crore nett in India. Despite the dip, the film benefitted from National Cinema Day, where ticket prices were reduced to ₹99. The movie recorded an 11.40% Hindi occupancy on Saturday, reflecting a slight downturn in audience turnout compared to its opening day.
Yudhra Review
The Hindustan Times praised the performances in the film, especially Siddhant Chaturvedi’s portrayal of a tough action hero. “Siddhant shines in bits and pieces, particularly in action sequences. The guy’s a natural, and makes it believable,” the review read. However, it noted that his emotional scenes lacked the same depth. Raghav Juyal, who plays Shafiq, the villain, found his footing in a climactic hand-to-hand combat scene. The review added, “Malavika Mohanan tries, but there’s not much chemistry between her and Siddhant. She does get to kick some a** though.”
Plot and Cast
Yudhra marks Siddhant Chaturvedi’s first film as a solo lead, portraying a man with anger issues who goes undercover to dismantle a powerful drug syndicate headed by Firoz and his son Shafiq. Alongside Siddhant, Malavika Mohanan plays the captivating Nikhat, while Raghav Juyal takes on the role of the menacing villain, Shafiq. The film also features seasoned actors Gajraj Rao, Ram Kapoor, and Raj Arjun in pivotal roles.
With a blend of gripping action and dynamic storytelling, Yudhra offers an adrenaline-fueled experience. However, whether the film will sustain its momentum at the box office remains to be seen as it enters its first weekend.
