Yami Gautam Overwhelmed with Pride as Father Mukesh Gautam Wins First National Film Award

Yami Gautam expressed her heartfelt emotions on social media following her father, filmmaker Mukesh Gautam, receiving his first National Film Award. The proud moment occurred during the 70th National Film Awards ceremony held in New Delhi on Tuesday, where Mukesh was honored with the award for Best Punjabi Film for his work in Baghi Di Dhee. The ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhawan, with President Droupadi Murmu presenting the awards to the recipients.

An Emotional Tribute

Unable to attend the ceremony in person, Yami took to Instagram to share her joy and pride. She posted a heartfelt message and a clip of her father accepting the award. Yami, who watched the ceremony on television, expressed how emotional it was to see her father on stage, highlighting the significance of this achievement.

“Very emotional moment as my father, Shri Mukesh Gautam, received his first National Award as a director for his film – Baghi Di Dhee,” Yami wrote in her post. She added that her emotions were too overwhelming to be conveyed in words, stating, “I am such a proud daughter. My father’s journey till here has been one of the hardest journeys I have seen, yet it didn’t deter him from his consistent passion for work and immense honesty in ethics. Your family is proud of you, papa,” followed by a folded hands emoji to convey her respect and admiration.

In her post, Yami also acknowledged the collaborative efforts behind the film, giving a special mention to her father’s team members, @rabindra.narayan and @jasrajsinghbhatti, for their fantastic work.

Yami’s Personal Milestone

In addition to celebrating her father’s success, Yami Gautam is also enjoying a new chapter in her life as a mother. The actress, who is married to filmmaker Aditya Dhar, welcomed their son, Vedavid, on May 10. The couple shared the news on Instagram, inviting blessings for their newborn and describing his arrival as a joyous occasion coinciding with the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya.
