Vishwambhara Teaser: Chiranjeevi Flies a Pegasus in Epic Adventure Beyond the Universe, Internet Reacts to VFX

On Dussehra, Chiranjeevi unveiled the teaser for his much-anticipated film Vishwambhara, directed by Vassishta. The fantasy adventure film, featuring Trisha Krishnan, Ashika Ranganath, and Kunal Kapoor alongside the megastar, takes viewers on an epic journey ‘beyond the universe.’ However, despite the excitement surrounding the project, the teaser’s visual effects (VFX) have left the internet unimpressed.

Epic Journey Beyond Earth

The teaser, which lasts 1 minute and 32 seconds, hints that Vishwambhara will not be confined to Earth but will explore mythical landscapes with unique ecosystems. The teaser reveals fish-shaped birds and characters with pointed ears, suggesting an otherworldly adventure. However, an impending evil threatens this magical realm, and it’s up to Chiranjeevi’s character to save the day.

The highlight of the teaser shows Chiranjeevi riding a Pegasus and wielding a mace as he battles enemies. In one scene, he is framed by a statue of Lord Hanuman, emphasizing his heroic stature. While the teaser doesn’t reveal much about the other characters, Kunal Kapoor is hinted to play the antagonist.

Mixed Reactions to VFX

Expectations were high for Vishwambhara, especially since it marks Vassishta’s next film after the successful Bimbisara, which starred Kalyanram. However, many fans and internet users expressed disappointment with the film’s VFX. Several people took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their views. “Below par graphics,” commented one user, while another added, “VFX baledu boss (VFX isn’t good boss).”

Some fans drew comparisons to Hollywood blockbusters, calling certain scenes reminiscent of Avatar and Infinity War. However, others criticized the visual effects more harshly, with some fans likening it to Chiranjeevi’s Acharya or even the poorly received VFX of Adipurush. A user even joked that the teaser looked like a production from ‘Lakshmi Ganapati films.’

Postponed Release Date

Initially slated for a Sankranthi release on January 10, 2025, Vishwambhara has now been postponed. At the teaser launch event, director Vassishta confirmed the delay, stating, “Sankranthi ki abbayi vastunadu kabatti, aa cinema enjoy cheddam (Because his son Ram Charan’s film Game Changer is releasing for Sankranthi, let’s enjoy that first).”

The film’s new release date will be announced soon by the producers and Chiranjeevi. Despite mixed reactions to the teaser, Vishwambhara remains one of the most anticipated films of 2025, with fans eager to see how the film shapes up once completed.

Conclusion

Vishwambhara promises a blend of fantasy and action, with Chiranjeevi leading the charge in a visually ambitious project. While the VFX has garnered criticism, the star power and epic scale of the film still have fans excited. The final verdict, however, will be reserved until the movie’s release.
