Vijay’s 'GOAT' Enters ₹100 Crore Club on Day 3 at Box Office

Vijay’s latest release, GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment, has crossed the ₹100 crore mark at the box office in India. The film, a period science fiction thriller, was released on Thursday to much fanfare and celebration. According to Sacnilk.com, the film grossed an impressive ₹33 crore on Saturday, pushing its total domestic earnings to ₹102.5 crore.

GOAT earned ₹44 crore on its opening day, with ₹39.15 crore from the Tamil version, ₹1.85 crore from the Hindi version, and ₹3 crore from the Telugu version. On Friday, the collections dropped slightly to ₹25.5 crore (₹22.75 crore from Tamil, ₹1.4 crore from Hindi, and ₹1.35 crore from Telugu). On Day 3, the film made ₹33 crore (₹29.1 crore from Tamil, ₹2.15 crore from Hindi, and ₹1.75 crore from Telugu).

The film had an overall Tamil occupancy of 72.58% on Saturday, signaling strong support from Vijay’s Tamil Nadu fanbase. GOAT has been well-received, particularly for its engaging first half. The Hindustan Times review highlighted the film’s blend of family drama and high-octane action, noting that the director successfully sets up a thrilling interval block. The post-interval action, focusing on a face-off between Vijay’s characters Gandhi and Sanjay, has also been praised for maintaining a fast pace.

The film showcases Vijay in a dual role, playing both a father and son. In the trailer, he is introduced as a seasoned field agent and spy, having completed over 65 successful missions. The cast of GOAT also includes Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Sneha, Ajmal Ameer, Vaibhav, Laila, Mohan, Aravind Akash, and Ajay Raj.
