Varun Dhawan’s action-packed film Baby John has made its way to streaming platforms, arriving on Amazon Prime Video six weeks after its theatrical release. The film, a remake of Atlee’s Tamil blockbuster Theri, failed to make a mark at the box office but now seeks to reach a wider audience on OTT.
‘Baby John’ Now Streaming on Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video announced the exclusive global streaming premiere of Baby John on Wednesday, February 19. The film, directed by Kalees, features a star-studded cast including Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, and Jackie Shroff, along with special appearances by Salman Khan and Sanya Malhotra.
Produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande under the banners of Jio Studios, Atlee’s production house, and Cine1 Studios, Baby John brings an intense action-packed narrative to audiences worldwide.
Plot and Premise
The movie follows the story of DCP Satya Verma, played by Varun Dhawan, who fakes his own death to protect his daughter from a powerful and dangerous politician, Babbar Sher. As his past catches up with him, Satya is forced to confront old enemies, putting everything on the line to safeguard his family.
Box Office Performance
Despite being a highly anticipated project, Baby John struggled at the box office. The film opened with an underwhelming ₹11.25 crore on its first day, but the collections dipped sharply to ₹4.25 crore on the second day. The movie wrapped up its theatrical run in less than three weeks, managing to earn just ₹61 crore worldwide—far below its reported budget of ₹150 crore.
The lukewarm response from critics and mixed-to-negative word of mouth contributed to its poor performance in cinemas. However, with its arrival on Prime Video, Baby John hopes to redeem itself and find appreciation among streaming audiences.
Where to Watch
Baby John is now available for streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video starting today, February 19. Fans of action-packed entertainers can now watch Varun Dhawan in a high-octane avatar from the comfort of their homes.
