Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad’s leading commerce institute Udayan Kachchhy Institute of Commerce (UKIC), providing best coaching for 11th and 12th Commerce students recently celebrated Teacher’s day with the tree plantation programme held at Prahladbhai Joggers Park. With a special motive of ‘Planting values a teacher passes lasts a lifetime’, the theme for the tree plantation was carried out with a beautiful message passed to the students.

An exceptional narrative was passed by the Founder and Director of UKIC, Dr. Udayan Kachchhy by remarking how trees represents itself as a moral symbol of knowledge and values a teacher passes to his students that are forever eternalize for generations to come. The tree plantation programme was carried out with selected 30 of UKIC’s students and saplings were planted along with their teachers. Students were given the moral message that Nature is the supreme teacher. As a tree takes in carbon dioxide and releases oxygen that helps all the beings exist in this world, a teacher purifies all the inferior thoughts and passes down good moral values to its students.

Reflecting upon this programme, one of the students Pratham Patel, of UKIC said, “ This programme was equally fun and a learning experience, Just like our incredible professors we learned how nature plays much larger role in our lives. By planting these saplings, it is our way to show gratitude and give back to the nature.” The programme was carried out at Prahladbhai Joggers Park. Students were gathered in afternoon and over 15 plant saplings were planted across the park. Students also interacted with other citizens in the park and many of them joined in this propitious movement. A pledge was taken by Students that not only will they plant the saplings but they will take the responsibility to nurture it regularly and take proper care of them and encourage others to do so. Citizens joining them were also pledged to nurture trees near their surroundings and public properties and take care of them.

This fun and frolic event was also a major learning experience for students. Students of 11th and 12th Commerce acquired knowledge regarding various types of plant saplings and how to take care of them. Varieties of saplings were introduced and different methods to grow them were taught. A keen interest in gardening was seen by students in the tree plantation programme. The event was ended on a good note with students enjoying delicious ice creams and longing to carry out the programme annually.
