Kareena Kapoor’s latest film, The Buckingham Murders, has experienced a slowdown at the box office after a steady weekend start. On its fifth day, the crime thriller earned Rs 75 lakhs across its Hindi and Hindi-English versions, according to Sacnilk. So far, the Hansal Mehta-directed film has grossed Rs 6.81 crore.
The Buckingham Murders stars Kareena Kapoor in the role of Jasmeet Bhamra, also known as Jazz, a grieving mother and cop investigating the case of a missing child. The film, set in the UK, also features Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen in pivotal roles.
At the trailer launch, Kareena Kapoor spoke about the emotional depth of her character. “I think a mother’s love has no language. It’s a feeling. Being a mother myself, I understand that a mother’s love is universal — it’s in her eyes, her love, her pain. I think that’s what connected me to the character,” she explained.
Kareena also praised director Hansal Mehta for his guidance and vision. “This film wouldn’t have been what it is without Hansal Mehta, the captain of the ship. The way he made me embody the character, the comfort he brought… We loved the story and the script. Hansal has stayed true to the authenticity of the film’s content,” she said.
The crime thriller marks Kareena Kapoor’s production debut, co-produced alongside Ektaa Kapoor and Sobha Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures and Mahana Films.
Despite the box office dip, The Buckingham Murders continues to garner attention for its strong storyline and performances. Kareena Kapoor’s next project is Singham Again, where she will share the screen with Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff.
