Mumbai witnessed a star-studded evening as Shah Rukh Khan, along with his wife Gauri Khan and daughter Suhana Khan, attended the launch event of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series, The Ba**ds of Bollywood*. Produced by Gauri Khan, the Netflix show is co-created by Aryan, Bilal Siddiqi, and Manav Chauhan, who also share writing credits.
The highlight of the event was the teaser, which offered fans a glimpse into Aryan Khan’s work behind the camera. In a particularly amusing moment, Shah Rukh Khan, seen struggling to deliver a line while being directed by Aryan, playfully snapped, “Tere baap ka raj hai kya?” (Does your father own this business?). To which Aryan cheekily responded, “Yes.” The humorous exchange quickly became the talk of the evening, showcasing their easy camaraderie.
As always, Shah Rukh Khan’s signature wit was on full display. The superstar shared that Aryan had strictly instructed him not to reveal details about the show. “Sab show dikhayenge, hum tumhe dikhayenge (Everyone will showcase their upcoming shows, we will show you).” He also humorously remarked that for Gauri and Aryan, he remains “ghar ki murgi dal barabar” (taken for granted at home).
Reminiscing about Suhana and Aryan’s childhood, Shah Rukh revealed how growing up around Bollywood bigwigs like Aditya Chopra, Hrithik Roshan, and Karan Johar led them to believe everyone worked in television.
Expressing his gratitude, Shah Rukh shared that the actors who collaborated on Aryan’s show did so out of love and respect for him. He also made a heartfelt appeal to fans and the media to support Aryan’s journey as a director and Suhana’s debut as an actress. “Agar mere bachchon ko bhi duniya 50% pyaar dede jitna mujhe diya hai, toh bahut zyada hoga.” (If the world gives even 50% of the love to my children that it has given me, it would be more than enough).
With Aryan Khan stepping into direction and Suhana Khan launching her acting career, all eyes are on the next generation of the Khan family as they carve their own paths in Bollywood.
