Weekend Expectations

About Thandel

Presented by Allu Aravind and produced by Bunny Vas under Geetha Arts, Thandel is inspired by a real-life incident involving fishermen from Srikakulam who unintentionally drifted into Pakistani waters and were detained.

Naga Chaitanya plays Raju, a fisherman who is made the thandel (captain) of a fishing trip near Gujarat. Sai Pallavi portrays Satya, his love interest, whom he fondly calls bujji thalli (loved one). While the film has received a mixed response from critics and audiences, both Chaitanya and Pallavi have been praised for their performances.

As Thandel moves into its crucial third day, all eyes are on its weekend collections to determine if it will sustain its momentum and turn into a box-office blockbuster.
