South Korean actress Lee Si Young, known for her roles in Netflix’s Sweet Home and Zombieverse, has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband, restaurateur Mr. Jo. According to Korean media outlet YTN, the couple submitted their divorce documents to the Seoul Family Court earlier this year.
Lee Si Young Confirms Divorce
The 42-year-old actress and her husband, who is nine years older than her, tied the knot in 2017 and welcomed a son the following year. On March 17, Lee’s agency, ACE FACTORY, confirmed the news, stating, “They are in the process of getting a divorce through mutual agreement. As it is the actress’s private life, please understand that it is difficult to answer other questions besides this.”
Reports suggest that the key terms of the divorce have already been settled, and the proceedings are in their final stages.
Lee Si Young’s Acting Career and Recent Projects
Lee Si Young, who gained immense popularity for her role in Sweet Home, is set to appear in Seasons 2 and 3 of the hit Netflix series, slated for release in 2024. Her intense physical training and portrayal of a special forces firefighter in the series have earned her a strong fan base and the title of a ‘girl crush’ in the K-drama industry.
Having debuted in 2008, Lee first rose to fame with her roles in Boys Over Flowers and the variety show We Got Married. More recently, she appeared in Netflix’s 2023 reality show Zombieverse, which, despite mixed reviews, introduced her to a new global audience. She is set to reprise her role in Zombieverse Season 2, which will feature an expanded cast, including Cho Saeho, Defconn, Taeyeon, Yook Sung Jae, and Code Kunst, among others.
