Sushmita Sen Clears the Air on Lalit Modi Relationship: "If I Wanted to Marry Someone, I'd Be Married to Them"

Sushmita Sen, known for her openness about her personal life, recently delved into her brief romance with businessman Lalit Modi in a candid interview with Mid-Day. The actor shed light on the nature of their relationship, dismissing it as “just another phase,” while expressing her amusement at the public’s reaction to their association.

Sen emphasized that despite not publicly discussing her relationship status with Lalit Modi, she felt compelled to address it once on social media to dispel misconceptions. “I just put out one post on Instagram because sometimes I think when people keep quiet, their silence is mistaken for weakness or fear. I just needed to put out one post to let them know I am laughing. After that, I was done with it,” she revealed.

Amidst the buzz and memes circulating around their association, Sushmita Sen offered a wry response, stating, “Memes bahut mast aa rahe hain. Mazza aa raha hai (The memes are quite amusing. I’m enjoying it). But kya hai, kisi ko agar aap golddigger bulate ho toh usey monetise toh mat karo kum se kum (But if you’re calling someone a golddigger, at least don’t monetize her). And check your facts. Mujhe gold nahi diamond pasand hain (I like diamonds, not gold).”

The former Miss Universe clarified her approach to relationships, asserting, “And if I was going to marry someone, I’d be married to them. I don’t try. I either do or I don’t.”

Regarding previous speculations sparked by Lalit Modi’s posts hinting at their union, Sen clarified through an Instagram post last year that she was not yet engaged, countering the buzz around their relationship.

In recent times, Sushmita Sen’s public appearances with former boyfriend Rohman Shawl have reignited talks about their relationship. The duo was spotted together, holding hands at a Diwali celebration, hinting at a rekindling of their romance.

Sen, who garnered acclaim for her role in “Aarya Season 3 Part 1,” continues to captivate audiences with her candidness, both on and off-screen.
