The trailer for Subham, the debut theatrical production from actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s banner Tralala Moving Pictures, was unveiled on Sunday and quickly garnered widespread attention online. Blending horror and comedy, the trailer ends on a high note with a brief but exciting cameo by Samantha herself, adding a star-powered twist to the quirky narrative.
Directed by Praveen Kandregula, Subham features an ensemble cast including Harshith Malgireddy, Shriya Kontham, Charan Peri, Shalini Kondepudi, Gavireddy Srinivas, and Shravani. The story follows a group of friends entangled in a bizarre situation involving their wives, who appear to become possessed after watching a mysterious TV show. Just as chaos unfolds, Samantha makes a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance at the end of the trailer — seemingly stepping in to fix the supernatural mess.
Described as a “quirky comedy” with a “unique blend of humour and thrills,” Subham seeks to present a fresh take on everyday societal dynamics, wrapped in an entertaining horror-comedy format.
Last month, Samantha announced the project on Instagram, posting the film’s poster along with the caption: “With utmost excitement, we at Tralala Moving Pictures are proud to announce our first theatrical production, Subham, ready for release. Stay tuned!!!”
Speaking about her production debut, Samantha shared in a statement, “This project embodies Tralala’s vision of unique, thought-provoking cinema that leaves you wanting more. I’m really excited about Subham and can’t wait for audiences to see all our hard work take shape.”
This marks an important milestone for the actress as she steps into the role of a producer, aiming to back innovative storytelling under the Tralala Moving Pictures label.
On the acting front, Samantha was last seen in the action-thriller web series Citadel: Honey Bunny alongside Varun Dhawan. She is currently gearing up for her next major release — the Netflix original series Rakt Bramhand, which also stars Aditya Roy Kapur.
With Subham, Samantha Ruth Prabhu not only adds another feather to her cap but also reaffirms her commitment to pushing creative boundaries in Indian cinema.
