Stree 2 Nears ₹200 Crore Worldwide Box Office Mark on Day 3

The highly anticipated horror-comedy Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is making waves at the global box office. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film has grossed an impressive ₹188 crore worldwide within its first three days of release. With the momentum continuing to build, the film is expected to cross the ₹200 crore mark by the end of Sunday.

Released on Thursday to positive reviews from both critics and audiences, Stree 2 has quickly become a major box office success. According to a report by Sacnilk.com, the film’s gross collection stands at ₹163 crore in India and ₹25 crore overseas, underscoring its widespread appeal.

Stree 2 faced stiff competition at the box office, clashing with two other major Bollywood releases: Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and the John Abraham-starrer Vedaa, directed by Nikkhil Advani. Despite the rivalry, Stree 2 has managed to hold its own, drawing large crowds to theatres.

The film, produced by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan, is a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree. The story follows a group of friends, led by Rajkummar Rao’s character Vicky, a tailor who falls in love with a mysterious woman played by Shraddha Kapoor. Their town of Chanderi is haunted by the villain Sarkata, adding a thrilling element to the comedic narrative. The movie also features notable performances by Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana.

Stree 2 has been praised for its unique blend of humor and horror. A review in Hindustan Times highlighted the film’s strong comedic timing, with Niren Bhatt’s story, screenplay, and dialogue keeping the pace lively and engaging. The review noted, “The jokes just don’t stop coming, and that’s exactly what the viewers are looking for. It’s naughty, it’s original. After a point, it isn’t the joke alone which lands. It’s the sheer talented bunch who make Stree 2 what it is, led by an able Rajkummar Rao.”

As Stree 2 continues to captivate audiences, it is poised to become one of the highest-grossing films of the year, further solidifying Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s status as box office powerhouses.
