Stree 2 continues to dominate the box office, inching closer to the coveted Rs 300 crore-club after an impressive first week of ticket sales. The Amar Kaushik-directed horror-comedy has already proven to be a box office juggernaut, grossing an estimated Rs 275.35 crore in India by the end of its first seven days.
The film, which is a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, maintained its strong performance on the seventh day, raking in an additional Rs 20 crore, according to a report by Sacnilk. The report also noted that Stree 2 held an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 30.45% on Wednesday, further solidifying its position as a major success.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X (formerly Twitter) to share Stree 2‘s day six box office collection, emphasizing the film’s steady momentum. “After an extended weekend packed with holidays – right from Independence Day to Raksha Bandhan – Stree 2 delivers exceptional numbers on its first regular working day: Tue [Day 6]. The horror-comedy shows no signs of slowing down and is on track to hit ₹ 300 crore mark by the end of its extended Week 1,” Adarsh wrote.
He added, “With the Janmashtami holiday on Monday, Stree 2 is expected to deliver massive numbers in Weekend 2 as well…Stree 2 is a ONE-HORSE RACE at the #Boxoffice.”
The day-wise breakdown of the film’s earnings is equally impressive. Adarsh reported, “[Week 1] Wed previews 9.40 crore, Thu 55.40 crore, Fri 35.30 crore, Sat 45.70 crore, Sun 58.20 crore, Mon 38.40 crore, Tue 26.80 crore. Total: ₹ 269.20 crore. #India biz. #Boxoffice.”
Stree 2, which hit theaters on August 15, faced tough competition from Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. Despite the rivalry, Stree 2 has emerged as the clear leader in box office numbers, leaving its competitors far behind. The film, headlined by Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, continues the eerie tale of Chanderi, a town now haunted by the new threat of Sarkata.
