Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi recently shared insights about his current romantic relationship and how it has remained untouched by discussions about his tumultuous past, including the Jiah Khan abetment to suicide case. In a candid interview with Siddharth Kannan, the actor expressed his contentment about being with someone who understands him but chose to keep her identity private.
Sooraj Pancholi endured a challenging period during the 2013 Jiah Khan abetment to suicide case, which had garnered considerable media attention. The actor has since moved forward in his personal life and career, reflecting on the challenges he faced.
Regarding his present relationship, Sooraj revealed, “I have fallen in love even after that (Jiah Khan case),” highlighting that he has not let the past impact his ability to embrace new love. He emphasized that his girlfriend has never initiated discussions about his past or legal matters, allowing their relationship to flourish without dwelling on past hardships.
When asked about the recent arrest of television actor Sheezan Khan for allegedly abetting the suicide of his former girlfriend and co-actor Tunisha Sharma, Sooraj Pancholi asserted that media scrutiny should not deter one from believing in love. He expressed his belief in love despite adversities and media trials.
Reflecting on his image and the challenges he faced as a member of the Pancholi family, Sooraj discussed his entry into the film industry with the 2015 movie “Hero,” co-starring Athiya Shetty. Despite a promising debut, he encountered hurdles in establishing himself as a successful leading actor.
One of the most trying phases in Sooraj’s life was his involvement in the Jiah Khan suicide case, which garnered significant media attention. While he was ultimately acquitted in the legal proceedings, the media’s focus on his father Aditya Pancholi’s reputation as a troublemaker had an impact on his public image. Sooraj expressed that the media often emphasized his father’s reputation, even though it did not influence the legal outcome.
Earlier this year, in April, a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court acquitted Sooraj Pancholi of abetment charges in the Jiah Khan death by suicide case. The case revolved around the tragic death of Jiah Khan, who was found deceased at her Mumbai residence on June 3, 2013. Sooraj’s acquittal marked a significant development in a tumultuous chapter of his life.
