Sonakshi Sinha Slams Mukesh Khanna for Blaming Shatrughan Sinha Over KBC Incident

Actor Sonakshi Sinha has called out Mukesh Khanna for repeatedly bringing up a past incident on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) where she was unable to answer a question about the Ramayana. In a strongly worded statement shared on Instagram, Sonakshi criticized the veteran actor for blaming her father, Shatrughan Sinha, for her inability to answer the question.

The Controversy

The issue dates back to 2019 when Sonakshi appeared on KBC 11. During the episode, she could not correctly answer the question about whom Hanuman brought the Sanjeevani booti for in the Ramayana. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Mukesh Khanna claimed that Sonakshi’s father was at fault for not teaching her about Indian epics. He remarked, “It’s not Sonakshi’s fault; it’s her father’s fault. Why did you not tell your kids? Why did you let them be so modern?”

Sonakshi’s Response

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Sonakshi accused Mukesh of using the incident for publicity. She wrote, “Dear Sir, Mukesh Khanna ji …I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly on a show I attended many, many years back.”

Sonakshi clarified that there were two contestants on the hot seat that day who couldn’t answer the same question. “But you choose to keep taking my name, and only my name, for reasons which are quite obvious,” she added.

“Forgive and Forget”

Acknowledging that she blanked out on KBC, Sonakshi urged Mukesh to let the matter rest. She wrote, “If Lord Ram can forgive Manthara, Kaikeyi, and even Ravan, surely you can let go of this extremely small thing… not that I need your forgiveness, but I definitely need you to stop bringing up the same incident time and again.”

Sonakshi Defends Her Upbringing

Sonakshi also warned Mukesh against making “distasteful statements” about her upbringing. She defended the values instilled in her by her father, writing, “The next time you decide to say anything about the values my father has instilled in me… please remember it’s because of those values that I have only said what I said, very respectfully.”

Mukesh Khanna’s Remarks

In the interview, Mukesh Khanna highlighted the need for guidance for today’s generation, referencing his iconic Shaktimaan character. Without directly naming Sonakshi, he criticized modern parenting, implying that her father’s choices influenced her lack of knowledge about Indian epics.

Sonakshi’s Final Word

Concluding her statement, Sonakshi wished Mukesh well but firmly reminded him to refrain from involving her family in such discussions. “Thanks and regards,” she signed off, putting an end to the back-and-forth.

A Call for Closure

Sonakshi’s statement underscores the importance of moving on from trivial controversies and respecting personal boundaries, especially in the public domain.
