Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s latest film Sky Force is steadily moving towards the ₹100 crore milestone at the box office. Released on January 24, the aerial action thriller has maintained a strong performance in its first week.
Day 6 Collection
On its first Wednesday, Sky Force collected ₹5.75 crore, bringing its total domestic earnings to ₹80.75 crore, according to a report by Sacnilk. The film had an impressive opening, earning ₹12.25 crore on its debut day. Over the first three days, it managed to cross the ₹50 crore mark, showcasing its box office strength.
Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, Sky Force witnessed a 12.14% occupancy in Hindi screenings on Day 6. The film has been produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios and features an ensemble cast, including Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur.
Critical Reception
Despite its commercial success, the film has received mixed reviews from critics. NDTV’s Saibal Chatterjee rated Sky Force 2.5 stars, stating that the film struggles in the first half. He noted that the movie loses focus amidst an abundance of CGI-driven air combat sequences. “It wastes one-half of its runtime on sound and fury minus the excitement,” he added.
Veer Pahariya’s Bollywood Debut
The film marks the debut of Veer Pahariya, who plays T Vijaya, a character inspired by the late Squadron Leader Ajjamada B Devaiah. In an interview with Film Gyan, Veer shared his enthusiasm for the role and expressed his interest in portraying cricketer Virat Kohli in a future biopic.
“Virat sir is legendary. His passion and dedication to his craft are inspiring. If filmmakers ever decide to make a biopic on him and consider me worthy of the role, I would love to be a part of it,” Veer said.
With strong box office numbers and audience support, Sky Force is on track to cross the ₹100 crore mark soon. It remains to be seen how the film sustains its momentum in the coming days.
