Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 3: Salman Khan’s Film Inches Closer to ₹150 Crore, Surpasses Laal Singh Chaddha’s Lifetime Earnings

Salman Khan’s much-anticipated action-thriller Sikandar continues its box office run, surpassing Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha in lifetime earnings within just three days of release. Despite a slight drop in collections, the film is inching closer to the ₹150 crore mark globally.

Sikandar’s Worldwide Box Office Collection

According to the makers, Sikandar grossed ₹27.16 crore in India on its first Tuesday, with an additional ₹8.10 crore coming from international markets. This pushed the domestic total to ₹102 crore and the worldwide collection to ₹141.15 crore. However, trade tracking sites reported a slightly lower figure, estimating the third-day earnings at ₹19.5 crore, bringing the Indian total to ₹74.5 crore and the global tally to ₹123.75 crore.

While these numbers are impressive, they pale in comparison to Salman’s previous Eid releases, which have often become blockbuster hits. Nonetheless, Sikandar has already overtaken Laal Singh Chaddha, which had a lifetime collection of ₹133 crore. Aamir Khan’s adaptation of Forrest Gump struggled at the box office but later found an audience on Netflix.

Salman Khan’s Prediction Proves True

Salman Khan had confidently predicted Sikandar’s commercial success regardless of its critical reception. Speaking at the trailer launch, he stated, “Eid, Diwali, New Year, festive, non-festive—it’s the love of the people. Picture acchi ho ya buri ho, woh sau (₹100 crore) toh paar kara hi dete hain.” (“Whether the film is good or bad, it will at least cross ₹100 crore.”) He later revised his statement, asserting that Sikandar would surpass ₹200 crore, remarking, “₹100 crore bohot pehle ki baat hai.” (“₹100 crore is a thing of the past.”)

About Sikandar

Directed by AR Murugadoss, best known for Ghajini, and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar marks Salman Khan’s return to the big screen following the underwhelming performance of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The film features a star-studded cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar.

Despite its strong opening, Sikandar has received mixed reactions. While Salman’s fans have celebrated his return, some viewers have expressed disappointment with the storyline and visuals. It remains to be seen whether the film will maintain its momentum and achieve the ₹200 crore milestone Salman had envisioned.
