Following the release of the much-anticipated film “Tillu Square,” featuring Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran, the makers have officially announced a third part for the successful franchise, with Jonnalagadda set to reprise his iconic role as DJ Tillu.
“Tillu Square,” directed by Mallik Ram and serving as a sequel to the acclaimed 2022 film “DJ Tillu,” hit theaters this Friday to positive reviews and audience acclaim. The film’s success has solidified its position as one of the rare sequels that not only lives up to its predecessor but also stands out as a standalone success.
Speaking at a press meet in Hyderabad, Siddhu Jonnalagadda shared insights into the franchise’s journey and the decision to continue the story with a third installment. He emphasized that the intention behind “Tillu Square” was not just to surpass the previous film but to sustain the love and affection that audiences have shown for the character of DJ Tillu.
Reflecting on the character’s appeal, Jonnalagadda described DJ Tillu as “a ticking time bomb” with immense potential for humor and entertainment in various situations. Producer Naga Vamsi confirmed the plans for “Tillu 3” during the same press meet, highlighting the franchise’s commitment to delivering engaging and beloved content for fans.
While “DJ Tillu” was helmed by Vimal Krishna, Mallik Ram took the directorial reins for “Tillu Square,” ensuring continuity and freshness in the franchise’s storytelling. The films revolve around DJ Tillu’s escapades and misadventures, with Anupama Parameswaran portraying Lilly, his love interest.
In “DJ Tillu,” Neha Sshetty played Radhika, a character entangled in a murder mystery, while Prince Cecil portrayed a nightclub owner and gangster named Shannon. The sequel, “Tillu Square,” elevates the stakes for DJ Tillu, presenting new challenges and twists that captivate audiences.
Beyond the franchise, Siddhu Jonnalagadda is also involved in other exciting projects. He has written for both “DJ Tillu” and “Tillu Square” and is set to star in a spy thriller titled “Jack,” directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. Additionally, he will feature in stylist-turned-director Neeraja Kona’s debut directorial venture, “Telusu Kada.”
